What are Typedesk shortcuts?

Tiny shortcut, big result!

A Typedesk shortcut is a short sequence assigned to a template. When you type it in a supported field, Typedesk replaces it with the template's content.

For example, you could create shortcuts for:

  • A frequently used introduction
  • A troubleshooting answer
  • An appointment confirmation
  • A follow-up message
  • A standard customer-support reply

You set a shortcut in the template's Settings.

Shortcuts work through:

  • The desktop app in supported desktop and browser applications
  • The browser extension inside supported browser fields

Can't remember the shortcut?

No problem!

Press Alt+C on Windows or Option+C on Mac to open Quick Access. You can then search for the template by name or keyword.

You can also enable the experimental Super-shortcut to search for a template by name. Learn more in How to insert templates with Typedesk.

If the desktop app and browser extension are both active, the extension lets the desktop app handle shortcut insertion when it detects it. This normally prevents duplicate insertion.
