How do I update my payment method or credit card?

Updating your payment details is quick and easy! You can do this from your account settings in just a few clicks.

How to update your payment method using web portal

  1. Log in to Typedesk web portal at typedesk.com/account/
  2. Click the Subscription & Billing menu
  3. Click the Update payment method button
  4. You'll be redirected to our secure billing portal where you can update your card details

The billing portal is powered by Stripe, so your payment information is always secure.

I don't see the "Update payment method" button

This button only appears if you have an active paid subscription. If you're on the free plan, you won't see this option because there's no payment method on file.

If you previously had a subscription that has ended, you'll need to subscribe again to add a new payment method.

Can I update my payment method from the desktop app?

Account and billing settings can only be managed from the web app. The desktop app doesn't support these changes yet, but you can always access your settings at typedesk.com/account/.

My card was declined

If your card is being declined, here are a few things to check:

  • Make sure the card details (number, expiration date, CVV) are entered correctly
  • Check that the card hasn't expired
  • Verify that you have sufficient funds
  • Contact your bank to ensure they're not blocking the transaction
